REFRACTORY DEPOT, Inc. was incorporated July 1, 2002 by two industry veterans together with three owners of a software development company to provide refractory manufacturers and customers with an “on-line” venue for purchasing refractory products. The “on-line store” was the first system offered for the industry. The software development company's shares were acquired by the two industry veterans on January 1, 2003 and the “on-line store” system was expanded to include non-refractory industrial clients. On January 1, 2004, the company was reorganized and all shares were acquired by one industry veteran.
REFRACTORY DEPOT, Inc. is owned and operated by Bob Stevenson, a veteran with over thirty years experience. This experience includes a variety of sales, marketing, operations, and general management positions with the U.S.Steel Corp., the Carborundum Refractories Company, and Resco Products, Inc. Refractory Depot, Inc. is divided into three groups: purchasing services, direct sales and marketing of refractory products, and advisory/consulting/engineering services.
